On January 10, pharmaceutical leaders Bora Pharmaceuticals and Lotus Pharmaceutical announced their outstanding 2024 performance, driven by significant growth in overseas markets, with both companies achieving record-breaking annual revenues. Bora reported consolidated annual revenue of NT$19.257 billion, marking a year-on-year growth of 35.62%, while Lotus achieved consolidated annual revenue of NT$18.6 billion, representing a 10% year-on-year increase.
In December 2024 alone, Bora's consolidated revenue reached NT$1.985 billion, reflecting a monthly increase of 17.98% and a remarkable year-on-year surge of 107.93%. The December growth was primarily attributed to the better-than-expected performance of Vigafyde oral solution and replenishment orders from key clients at the Zhunan plant.
Looking ahead to 2025, Bora plans to continue expanding its presence in the U.S. rare disease specialty drug market. The company aims to integrate all its U.S. market products under the century-old Upsher-Smith brand, known for its specialization in rare diseases, to enhance market positioning and consistency. Bora will also strategically focus on developing and licensing products to build a high-margin and precisely targeted portfolio, addressing unmet patient needs.
Lotus reported consolidated revenue of NT$1.463 billion for December, a monthly increase of 38% and a year-on-year growth of 7%.
Lotus highlighted its strong performance in the fourth quarter of 2024, with revenue reaching NT$4.4 billion, a 29% year-on-year increase. Export sales saw an impressive year-on-year growth of over 60%, driven by the demand for the U.S. anti-blood cancer drug Lenalidomide and global oncology products. In the Asian market, revenue grew by 10% year-on-year, with Thailand standing out with a 450% year-on-year increase in fourth-quarter revenue. This exceptional growth was attributed to synergies from product integration with Teva Pharma Thailand. For the full year, Lotus reported a 15% increase in export revenue and a 4% growth in Asian market revenue.
