Lukas Biomedical Expands into Vietnam with Five-Year Exclusive Sales Agreement Worth $6 MillionNov 19, 2024

Lukas Biomedical has announced a significant expansion of its footprint in Vietnam’s regenerative medicine sector. The company recently signed a five-year exclusive sales agreement with the local firm M Pro International Enterprise Inc., securing $6 million in royalties. Under this agreement, the partner will lead medical research collaborations, technology licensing negotiations, clinical trials, and market development efforts in Vietnam. Additionally, the partnership will focus on promoting cell therapy for cancer recurrence prevention and adjunctive treatments.

Lukas Biomedical emphasized that this collaboration marks a major milestone, opening up a new overseas market channel for its cancer cell therapy technologies. These technologies will now be implemented in major Vietnamese hospitals and medical institutions. Together with its local partner, Lukas aims to strengthen its brand presence and market share in Vietnam’s regenerative medicine industry.

The chosen distributor, a trade company with over 20 years of experience in Vietnam, has an extensive understanding of local investment, legal frameworks, and the healthcare ecosystem. The partner has already achieved notable successes in Vietnam's regenerative medicine market, such as collaborations with Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacyand the Health Science Development Center on stem cell and immunotherapy cultivation and management. The distributor has also engaged with Osaka University in research and training projects related to regenerative medicine between Japan and Vietnam.

Lukas highlighted that this agreement not only establishes M Pro as its exclusive distributor in Vietnam but also sets a strategic goal of obtaining FDA approval from the Vietnamese government within five years.

Currently, Lukas Biomedical’s LuLym-T memory T-cell cancer therapy is undergoing clinical trials in Taiwan as an orphan drug for liver cancer approved by the U.S. FDA. This therapy is designed to prevent recurrence in patients with liver cancer stages I, II, and IIIa who have undergone curative treatment. Over half of the required patient recruitment for the trial has been completed. Lukas is actively working to bring this therapy to Vietnam, striving for both its implementation and regulatory approval. The successful signing of this agreement marks a significant step forward in Lukas’s internationalization efforts.

Looking ahead, Lukas stated that the partnership not only provides a reliable distributor for the Vietnamese market but also lays a foundation for future business growth and global expansion. Leveraging its years of innovation in cell therapy, clinical trial data, and research achievements, Lukas aims to broaden its reach in regenerative and precision medicine in international markets. The company is poised to significantly boost its market share in the Asia-Pacific region.
