On the 12th, GlycoNex announced that it has signed a manufacturing agreement with UK-based contract development and manufacturing organization Sterling Pharma Solutions. Under this agreement, Sterling’s specialized Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC) division will manufacture GlycoNex’s GNX102-ADC in preparation for its upcoming Phase I human clinical trial.

GNX102-ADC combines GlycoNex’s proprietary monoclonal antibody GNX102 with a dual-functional chemical agent, designed to precisely target cancer cells while sparing healthy ones. This mechanism enhances drug concentration within tumor cells, significantly boosting therapeutic efficacy. GNX102 has already completed a Phase I human clinical trial, demonstrating promising safety and patient tolerance, and its development as an ADC is expected to offer a highly effective cancer treatment option.

Mei-Chun Yang, CEO of GlycoNex, stated that GNX102's exceptional safety profile in Phase I trials positions it as an ideal candidate for ADC development. The company will leverage Sterling’s expertise in ADC manufacturing for GNX102-ADC production to support the Phase I clinical trial plan.

Preclinical data for GNX102-ADC show its safety profile is on par with currently approved ADC drugs and indicate its potential to treat a range of solid tumors, including gastric, colorectal, pancreatic, and lung cancers. GNX102-ADC has also shown strong tumor-suppressing effects in preclinical animal models. GlycoNex holds full development rights for GNX102-ADC and has secured patents in major global markets, including the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Russia.

In 2023, the global ADC market was valued at $11.65 billion, and it is projected to reach $28.61 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.4% from 2024 to 2033. With its expertise in antibody drug development and comprehensive plans for GNX102-ADC, GlycoNex is well-positioned to capture this substantial market opportunity.
