Sharehope Medicine is actively supporting the government's "Healthy Taiwan" initiative by transforming its Smart Medical City clinic into the "Min Sheng Smart Health Management Center," which is scheduled to begin operations in October. This center will become Taiwan’s first smart healthcare hub under the "Healthy Taiwan" initiative, focusing on preventive care and health promotion.
CEO Fred H. Yang explained that the "Min Sheng Smart Health Management Center" will not focus on treating illnesses through outpatient services, but rather serve sub-healthy individuals. The center aims to enhance quality of life by promoting holistic health, preventing diseases, and reducing the overall burden and costs associated with healthcare.
Yang emphasized that the "Healthy Taiwan" policy promotes a healthy lifestyle for all citizens, enhances care for all age groups, and aligns Taiwan with international standards for sustainable health development. Smart Medical City, originally built by leveraging resources from Sharehope Group’s Min Sheng Smart Medical Clinic, YES Health pharmacy chain, Harvard Clinic, and Healthy Residence, will now shift its focus towards preventive health and wellness care for the sub-healthy population.
In practice, the Min Sheng Smart Health Management Center will offer a range of services starting with comprehensive health assessments for adults. In addition to thorough medical evaluations by doctors, the center will provide medication management, psychological assessments, exercise and nutrition plans, community care, cancer screenings, AI-driven diagnostic imaging, and other health management services. The operating model will not rely on National Health Insurance coverage, but will instead focus on preventive care and health promotion through smart health tracking and management, aiming to reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Yang mentioned that 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of Min Sheng Medical Group, and the group's mission is evolving to prioritize future health developments. Taiwan is expected to become a super-aged society next year, with more than 51% of the population aged 45 and over. As per estimates by Taiwan’s National Development Council, the health management of this middle-aged and older generation will be the key focus for Min Sheng Medical Group over the next 50 years.
The group has appointed Dr. Liu Yi-Lien, Vice President of Min Sheng General Hospital, to lead the Min Sheng Smart Health Management Center. With expertise in public health and family medicine, Dr. Liu has extensive experience in public health administration, having served as Director of Health for Miaoli County, Taoyuan County, Yilan County, and Taoyuan City. His deep understanding of health promotion and chronic disease prevention will guide the development of the Min Sheng Smart Health Management Center into a key hub for "Healthy Taiwan." The group is optimistic about the center's success and intends to replicate this model across Taiwan.
