Pharmigene celebrated the grand opening of its new operational headquarters in Xinzhuang on the 20th, with its GMP-certified facility expected to begin formal production by the end of the year. Chairman Sophia Jan emphasized that this marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth. Pharmigene has expanded from companion diagnostics for adverse drug reactions into cancer-related diagnostic tools. Subsidiaries have also been established in Singapore and Vietnam, with overseas business operations set to gradually expand.
Pharmigene specializes in the development, production, and marketing of drug-related genetic testing and molecular diagnostics reagents, providing pre-treatment genetic testing services to prevent adverse drug reactions. The new management team, which took over four years ago, reorganized the company’s resources and decided to establish its own facilities and offices.
Sophia Jan expressed her satisfaction with the launch of the new facility, calling it a crucial step forward for Pharmigene and a promise to both clients and society. The company plans to continue investing in research and development to drive innovation in the industry and contribute to human health.
Since obtaining its GMP certification from Taiwan’s Department of Health in 2007, Pharmigene has secured several global patents in pharmacogenomics and developed multiple products in response to market demand. Key achievements include the successful inclusion of genetic tests for gout-related medications (HLA-B1502 and HLA-B5801) in Taiwan’s National Health Insurance program. Pharmigene has also leveraged its genomic research strengths to promote and establish functional medicine laboratory-developed testing (LDT) services.
Under the new management team, Pharmigene has been developing a globally oriented business strategy, driving internal growth in areas such as LDT services, contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) for in vitro diagnostics (IVD), multi-country product certification, and collaborations with research centers. The company is actively pursuing international market expansion, forging strategic global partnerships, and exploring mergers and acquisitions as part of its strategy for growth. Pharmigene’s goal is to progress from precision diagnostics to precision medicine and ultimately expand into the broader field of precision healthcare.
