The Maywufa Healthcare Group held a joint press conference on the 13th, during which AmCad BioMed announced that its flagship product, the thyroid ultrasound assisting software, AmCad-UT, has been adopted by over 30 medical institutions domestically. In March, the company submitted a proposal to Taiwan’s National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA), and the product has successfully been listed as one of the "proposed new items for coverage." The goal is to have it included in the health insurance coverage by the end of this year.
During the press conference, AmCad BioMed emphasized three key points:
The alignment of AmCad-UT with government biomedical policies, aiming for its inclusion in health insurance by the end of the year.
Collaborating with renowned domestic and international institutions to expand the product's application and value, enhancing global recognition.
Capitalizing on the global Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) market opportunity by integrating its software with major international manufacturers.
AmCad-UT uses patented nodule quantification and visual feature analysis to assist physicians in precise diagnosis. Studies have demonstrated that its accuracy reaches 90%. Research conducted by a team from National Taiwan University shows that, without surgery, it improves the benign tumor detection rate by 47% compared to traditional tests, and the malignant tumor detection rate reaches 100%. Currently, over 30 medical institutions in Taiwan have implemented this system. AmCad BioMed highlighted that its AI-assisted diagnostic capabilities align with the government’s digital healthcare policies. In March, the company submitted an application to the NHIA, and it is now among the proposed items awaiting final confirmation in year-end meetings.
AmCad BioMed is also actively expanding internationally. By participating in global medical exhibitions, the company has gained significant attention and is currently in discussions with Geneva University Hospital in Switzerland, with plans to introduce AmCad-UT by the end of the year. In addition, AmCad has signed an MOU with the UAE, officially launching its business in the Middle East.
Another flagship product, the AmCad-UO ultrasound-based sleep monitoring system, has already been adopted by several prominent healthcare institutions in Taiwan, including National Taiwan University Hospital's Health Management Center, China Medical University Hospital, Good Liver Clinic, Harvard Health Clinic, and Sunshine Clinic. The company continues to expand into corporate health screening markets domestically.
AmCad-UO is also aggressively entering the dental sleep medicine field. Through post-market research with partners, the system has not only proven its effectiveness but has also identified patients for whom anti-snoring devices and hypoglossal nerve stimulators are ineffective, along with the reasons for incompatibility. This makes it a valuable tool for precision treatment and follow-up in clinical settings. Following the success of its collaboration with the Stanford Sleep Center, which was published in the leading otolaryngology journal, JAMA Oto, a second research paper was completed this year and published in Sleep Medicine, one of the top three sleep journals globally. Additional related research continues to be presented at international journals and medical conferences, further raising product awareness and expanding global business opportunities.
The global market potential for POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound, also known as handheld ultrasound) is enormous, with an estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.71%, and the market is expected to exceed USD 1 billion by 2030. AmCad BioMed has already integrated its AI ultrasound technology with major international POCUS manufacturers to develop handheld devices with real-time AI diagnostic and analysis capabilities. Its flagship products, AmCad-UT, AmCad-UO, and AmCad Breast Detection System, are all compatible with this technology, presenting opportunities for technical collaboration and licensing.
In July, AmCad BioMed successfully completed a capital increase, raising over NTD 500 million, providing ample resources for future development. Fann Sun Precision Co., Ltd., the supplier of the laser positioning system for AmCad-UO, has also invested in the capital increase, becoming a strategic partner. The company expects to significantly boost revenue in the second half of the year through expansion into both domestic and international markets and dental channels.
