On the 9th, Inventec publicly showcased its AI application achievements for the first time, covering areas such as digital transformation services, robotic control, smart factories, smart healthcare, and trustworthy AI, with a total of 22 unique cases. The AI technologies presented included Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLM), Vision-Language Models (VLM), and Generative AI, demonstrating the potential of AI applications across various fields.
Inventec held its AI Day 2024 at the Taipei Performing Arts Center, inviting hundreds of distinguished guests from industries, government, academia, and research institutions, as well as company employees, to witness its latest breakthroughs in AI technology.
In the smart healthcare sector, Inventec demonstrated how LLM technology is applied to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease. The LLM program is trained as a professional psychologist, analyzing patients' language use to detect early symptoms of neurological degeneration. Traditional methods only assess individual sentences in isolation. By incorporating LLM technology, the program can not only comprehensively read and interpret patients’ narrative stories but also accurately identify abnormalities within the sentences, generating detailed reports. This application enhances diagnostic accuracy and provides deeper insights, ultimately improving the quality and efficiency of medical care.
In the environmental protection sector, Inventec collaborated with the Experimental Forest Management Office of National Taiwan University to showcase an automated cloud and fog detection system. This system uses camera imaging and atmospheric scattering models to record the formation and dissipation times of fog in Xitou, helping protect Taiwan's unique cloud forest ecosystem. It reduces the need for manual observation and minimizes human error. Through this collaboration, Inventec aims to expand AI applications in environmental protection, potentially using it for cloud and fog detection, landscape preservation, wildlife conservation, and equipment maintenance, offering intelligent and cost-effective environmental solutions.
In the smart manufacturing domain, Inventec showcased intelligent automated assembly technology. Robotic arms, equipped with AI-powered vision recognition and coordinate transformation programs, perform intelligent picking and placing tasks. Lab tests within the factory have shown a success rate of 99%, complying with the ISO/TS 15066:2016safety standards for human-robot collaboration, making this a model case for smart manufacturing.
