Inventec has achieved a significant milestone in expanding its smart healthcare portfolio. Its subsidiary, Inventec Appliances Corp., recently succeeded in introducing the "SmartMed Infusion System" into two hospitals in Thailand. This follows the system's earlier adoption in six hospitals within the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) network during the first quarter of this year. This international collaboration marks an important milestone in Inventec's strategic deployment of smart medical devices.
As part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ "Innovative Medical Product Market Access Value Enhancement Project," Inventec Appliances Corp. partnered with the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) to implement the "SmartMed Infusion System" in Thailand’s Muang Samut Paknam Private Hospital and Somdech Phra Pinklao Naval Hospital. The system underwent clinical infusion validation with real patients, and the collaboration led to its successful integration into these two hospitals.
The SmartMed Infusion System includes an infusion pump and a connected infusion software system developed by Inventec Appliances Corp., as well as a specialized infusion set developed and manufactured by Needleless, both of which are domestically designed and produced. The system not only enhances patient safety during infusions but also improves nursing efficiency and supports the advancement of smart hospitals, making it a critical component of intelligent healthcare.
Ivan Tseng, Vice President of Medical Electronics at Inventec Appliances Corp., stated that after securing a solid footing in Taiwan by deploying the SmartMed Infusion System in several medical centers, this expansion into the international market represents a crucial milestone for the "SmartMed" brand.
During the validation results presentation held in Bangkok on August 23, Dr. Pipat Pongrattanaman, Director of Muang Samut Paknam Hospital, expressed that the "SmartMed Infusion System" from Taiwan not only enhances patient infusion safety but also boosts nursing efficiency. He also highlighted the hospital's anticipation of advancing towards a smart hospital, significantly enhancing the level of healthcare intelligence in Thailand. The hospital is honored to be among the first clinical sites in Thailand to use the "SmartMed Infusion System."
Bo-Wei Huang, Deputy Director of the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre, noted that the government continues to actively support the promotion of outstanding Taiwanese medical products overseas. This project focused on conducting clinical infusion validation in Thai hospitals, evaluating the benefits of the "SmartMed Infusion System" from both functionality and satisfaction perspectives. This initiative not only fosters international exchange and sharing of medical technology but also serves as a successful example of Taiwan’s smart medical solutions being integrated and exported to the global market.
