This year, the SelectUSA Investment Summit, hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, saw nine Taiwanese startups entering the SelectUSA Tech competition finals, the highest number globally. Among them, EndoSemio, nurtured by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, was awarded first place in the global HealthTech category, marking Taiwan's first entry into the world-class finals. EndoSemio also stands out as the only early-stage medical technology startup among the global top eight.

SelectUSA is the largest investment promotion event in the United States, focusing annually on evaluating innovative startups in key industry sectors. Winning startups gain opportunities for international investment and cross-border business collaborations. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, this year's summit attracted over 260 startups from 37 countries, competing in four major industry categories: HealthTech, ICT/Software, CleanTech, and Open Tech. Representing Taiwan in the HealthTech category, EndoSemio won the global championship.

EndoSemio, a spin-off from National Taiwan University College of Medicine, was co-founded by Dr. Chih-Peng Lin, an attending anesthesiologist at National Taiwan University Hospital, and Ting Hsuan Chen, an expert in medical device development and commercialization. Leveraging two core technologies—micro imaging and highly biocompatible micro tubing—EndoSemio develops a series of disposable endoscope products aimed at addressing specific clinical needs and resolving various issues associated with traditional endoscopes. Their product line includes image-guided tracheostomy kits, infant airway imaging stylets, and single-use flexible ureteroscopes.

In addition to the recognition from SelectUSA, EndoSemio also received the "20th National Innovation Award—Clinical Innovation Award" at the end of 2023. Recently, EndoSemio announced the successful completion of its angel round funding and is actively launching its Pre-A round of financing. The company aims to obtain certification and officially launch its products by 2025, hoping to bring significant changes and contributions to the global medical field.
