Syngen biotech announced on the 19th that it has formed an alliance with the NTU-affiliated company, Leuven Biotech, joining forces with the NTU College of Medicine team to develop next-generation probiotic products targeting the weight management health market. This collaboration aims to propel the microbial health market to new heights.
Syngen biotech stated that Leuven Biotech's technology stems from the research team led by NTU Hospital Director Wu Ming-Hsien. The team has developed next-generation probiotics, specifically the strict anaerobe Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK), opening new avenues for disease prevention and treatment.
Currently, Leuven Biotech, in collaboration with the NTU College of Medicine team, has successfully screened over 110 strains of AKK from healthy individuals in Taiwan, establishing the world's second-largest AKK strain database.
This partnership leverages Syngen biotech's capabilities in industrial-scale production and manufacturing processes to accelerate the development of AKK products. With extensive experience in microbial fermentation, Syngen biotech has already established a "strict anaerobic production line" and has commenced pilot production. This collaboration is expected to further advance microbial technology, bringing more high-quality innovative products to the global health market and ushering in a new era for next-generation probiotic products.
Syngen biotech highlighted its rich experience and exceptional R&D capabilities in the microbial industry. The company is renowned for its innovative microbial development and production technologies, focusing on the research and production of functional probiotics and diverse health nutrition foods. It is committed to applying the latest research outcomes to its products. Through exclusive process development and fermentation technologies, along with production facilities that meet international standards, Syngen biotech supplies high-quality functional probiotics needed by the global health market.
Chairman of Syngen biotech, Chen Wei-Jen, stated, "This collaboration marks a significant step forward for Taiwan in the field of next-generation probiotics.
