On June 6, Hung-Pei Yang, co-general manager of Qisda's medical business group, attended the "Taiwan-Thailand Smart City Summit Forum / New Business Opportunities in Cross-Border Smart Cities via Technology" and delivered a keynote speech. He emphasized that one of Qisda's transformation directions is the rapid expansion of its medical business, particularly in the promising international medical market in Thailand, where Qisda plans to invest in related fields.

Before joining Qisda, Yang worked in Thailand for many years and is well-acquainted with the local market. He mentioned that Qisda's four key transformation directions are: optimizing existing business operations, rapidly expanding the medical business, accelerating the development of solutions, and venturing into the 5G networking sector.

Currently, the BenQ Qisda Group has two companies in Thailand. BenQ (Thailand), established in 2001, focuses on consumer electronics, systems, and solutions. The other, Katex International (Thailand), founded in 2019, specializes in hemodialysis, plasma therapy, blood bags, and medical aesthetics products and services.

Yang pointed out that Katex International has shown excellent performance. Besides dialysis products, medical equipment, and aesthetic products, it is also preparing to enter the smart healthcare sector, aiming to expand market reach to Indonesia and Vietnam.

According to Yang's observations, Thailand's international medical standards are quite high. For instance, Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok offers multilingual services, attracting foreign tourists who travel to Thailand for health check-ups. They spend one day on medical exams, enjoy their vacation, and review their results before returning home.

Yang noted that Thai hospitals not only provide excellent service and high international medical standards but can also be publicly listed. Qisda supplies a significant amount of medical equipment to Thailand, stating, "70% of the equipment in Thailand's largest blood donation center is ours."

Regarding future plans for the medical business in Thailand, Yang said the next step is to invest in local hospitals, "We want to integrate our smart healthcare solutions and also enter the AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) sector."
