Orient Europharma emphasized that signing the exclusive sales and marketing agreement with TaiMed Biologics for the HIV drug Trogarzo in Taiwan will lead to drug registration, product promotion, and commercialization responsibilities, contributing to future revenue growth.
Trogarzo (ibalizumab-uiyk) represents a breakthrough in HIV treatment. TaiMed Biologics stated that it is the world's first long-acting monoclonal antibody approved for HIV treatment. By binding to the CD4 receptor and blocking viral entry, it acts as a post-attachment inhibitor of HIV-1 virus, preventing virus invasion of CD4+ immune cells. Proudly, Trogarzo is the first and currently the only monoclonal antibody approved for HIV treatment in the United States and European countries and regions. When used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs, it is applicable to adults with multidrug-resistant (MDR) HIV-1 infection and experience with failed HIV drug therapy. Trogarzo has been approved for intravenous administration every two weeks via infusion or injection.
