The 2024 IBMI Annual General Meeting will be held on 4 March. This year, in addition to the presence of President Tsai Ing-wen and Chi-Huey Wong, President of IBMI, the organisers have invited three technology gurus to speak about the latest and future trends in medical technology. Barry Lam, founder of the Quanta Group, who is also vice president of IBMI, will give opening remarks for keynote speeches delivered by Jonney Shih, chairman of Asus, and Pei-Chen Yeh, chairman of Gigabyte.
The theme of IBMI's Annual General Meeting is "Responding to Change". In addition to President Tsai sharing Taiwan's proactive development of smart healthcare in recent years, the event will also invite attendees to exchange views with technology giants in attendance on the changes and implications that encompass medical technology.
Quanta has been cultivating in healthcare for more than a decade, mostly working directly with hospitals in the past, and has launched the AI-powered platform 'QOCA' for patient care, telemedicine and health monitoring, which provides AI-integrated enterprise cloud services with data trends and analytics. Lam said he was very optimistic about the prospects of AI, and reiterated the endless possibilities for the development of AI in healthcare.
Lam said that Taiwan has mastered three areas that benefit the development of AI in healthcare: 1) AI chip design and system integration, 2) GPU production, and 3) more than 90% of the world's AI servers come from Taiwan. He looks forward to Taiwan expanding its footprint in the development of AI in healthcare.
