VizionFocus, a contact lens manufacturer, announced that it will triple its production capacity to over 50 million lenses and plans to list on the Taipei Stock Exchange in March. Driven by sales growth in China last year, VizionFocus said it will invest in new manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and China, with the hometown facility breaking ground in 2026.
VizionFocus specialises in the design, manufacture and sale of soft contact lenses. Having seen the demand in the Chinese market, where such products are expensive and there are fewer options, VizionFocus set up a subsidiary and production line in China shortly after it was established in Taiwan.
The company has an ODM business for domestic and international contact lens brands. Taking advantage of the recognition and status of its products in the Japanese market and the fact that it has a manufacturing facility in China, VizionFocus has also launched sports contact lenses in the US market, which is now the company's second fastest growing sales area.
VizionFocus currently sells 60% of its products in China and 35% in Japan, while the United States and Europe have completed the regulatory approval and product launch process, which is expected to create momentum for product sales.
In order to maintain its business growth, VizionFocus launches new products every one to two years, including coloured contact lenses, market-leading blue-light blocking lenses, and sports contact lenses that have already been marketed, as well as differentiated products such as silicone lenses, lenses for myopia, toric contact lenses, and multifocal lenses.
This year, VizionFocus will launch new products in Japan, Taiwan and China, and will complete regulatory approval process this year in China, Japan, and the US.
VizionFocus reported revenues of NT$2.577 billion in 2023, an annual increase of 40.47%; EPS of NT$2.94, NT$4.64 and NT$6.02 in 2020-2022 respectively, and EPS of NT$7.25 in the first three quarters of 2023.
