Fu Jen Catholic Hospital now the 8th district hospital in new Taipei city, planning on its branchJan 12, 2023

The Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital has been in operation for five years and passed the hospital assessment last year. Fu Jen Catholic University President Dr. Han-sun Chiang said that in order to be a better support for the community, a branch of Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital is being planned.

Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital obtained the hospital accreditation and teaching hospital accreditation at the end of 2018, becoming a regional hospital in Xinzhuang, Wugu and Taishan areas of New Taipei City. The hospital superintendent Dr. Shoei-Shen Wang said that in 2021, Fu Jen Hospital was the first distric hospital in Taiwan in terms of the number of health insurance claims, with an amazing growth rate.

During the glonal pandemic, the hospital continued to grow, and it was awarded the National Innovation Award for its development of a smart epidemic prevention ward (MAC WARD), in line with the government's efforts to prevent the coronavirus. In addition to this, this caltholic hospital has been committed to its mission of helping the underprivileged, such as the relief of refugees in West Africa, and upgraded to regional hospital last year.

Following the status being a regional hospital, Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital has to be better after being stable, it will move towards being a medical centre and be assessed as a tertiary hospital. The  branch is planned to include not only medical treatment but also long-term care and post-acute care, and will create an ecosystem with the hospital and university wherein, said Dr. Chiang.
