The Smart Display Industry Industrial Alliance (SDIA) held a presentation on the results of smart medical display applications at the Hsinchu NTU Biomedical Hospital Zhubei Campus on 26 June.
The SDIA was established in 2020 under the auspices of the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and is a joint venture of major domestic display manufacturers.
In particular, Taiwan's AUO and InnoLux have a strong presence in the medical display market, but in the past, they have mostly worked with branded manufacturers to design their products to meet their specifications. If they can further understand the needs of doctors, they can create more business opportunities, as in the case of Groupon's development of naked eye 3D displays with National Cheng Kung University.
In fact, before the establishment of SDIA, the company has been cooperating with hospitals and expanding its participation in medical technology exhibitions, so the development is progressing faster.
For example, Chen said that although the penetration rate of e-paper bedside cards is still less than 50%, it has become a standard feature of major hospitals and new hospitals in recent years, and Yuantai will work with system integrators (SIs) such as Qisda and Green Lake to speed up the layout. The three branches of Hsinchu NTU are expected to introduce colour electronic paper bedside cards for over 600 beds next year.
The Zhubei Campus of the Hsinchu NTU Hospital is expected to introduce smart medical applications such as GIS-KY Group's 3D face recognition access control system and 3D bedside care system, Melten's colour e-paper health care signage and e-paper bedside cards, Qisda's e-paper room cards and TPV's e-paper outdoor signage and smart e-paper table signs.
