ESWT was initial used in urolithiasis and introduced in  musculoskeletal disease since 1990. ESWT was aimed to treat plantar fascitis, elbow lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), golf's elbow, shoulder calcified tendinitis, patella tendinitis, and Achilles tendinitis. About 70 to 80 percent of orthopedic patients with chronic pain experience significant improvement in pain management. And many patients do not require additional treatments in 2 years.
Features
  • Equipment
Electrohydrolic type machine has the benefit of delivering higher energy in shorter time, and patients only require one-time treatment. Up to 85% to 90% of successful rate was reported depending on disease duration and location.

  • Advantage
ESWT is a safe and non-invasive treatment. Surgical and anesthesia related risk can be avoided. As a simple and convenient alternative treatment for these diseases, it usually takes about 15 minutes for completing the ESWT without the need for inpatinet admission or local anesthesia.
Service Procedure
ESWT is a treatment that using high amplitude pulses of mechanical energy to break hypertrophic or calcified tissues and promote tissue regeneration. With no risk of surgical complications and inconvenience from recovery, patients can go back to work shortly after the treatment.
