Overview
  • In accordance with the Taiwan Medical Service International Action Plan initiated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, our International Medical Service Center is designed for the overseas Chinese and foreigners. With updated facility, foreign language service and reasonable cost, the Center not only provides people with a comfortable environment, but by working with hotel & insurance industry, gives them the most satisfactory experience in visiting scenic attractions around Taiwan.
  • In recent years, with the help from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TAITRA and other institutions, the Center has devoted joined efforts in international humanitarian work, such as providing surgeries for patients with rare deformities.
Surgeries done for a Vietnamese patient inflicted by progeria and a patient from Peru who suffered from congenital lymphedema have great success and have been documented in our Diplomatic White Paper.
  • The members of the Center have been invited to other countries to demonstrate reconstructive surgeries for rare diseases, which increases the visibility of Taiwan in international society.
Our center published a paper titled “Achievement of A New Horizon of Reconstructive Surgery Through Intimate Integration of Subspecialties” and was awarded with the Golden Award of 2014 National Biotechnology and Medical Care Quality Award (SNQ).
  • With the belief of “healthcare without borders,” we have worked with the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) in forming “Taiwan IHA”. This team of international voluntary workers is made up of students from China Medical University, trotting around a lot of countries such as the northern part of Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal, El Salvador, Honduras, St. Christopher, Nicaragua, Panama, and Palau to bring our expertise and compassion to the needy who are waiting for our help.

The success rate was 100 %, and the countries of these patients were touched by our benevolence as well as amazed at the excellent results.
The largest number of foreign mess media reporting on a single case was 62, including US, UK, Germany, Japan, etc.
The tremendous impact was reflected in these reports, with the comment that they are going to reassess the level of health care in Taiwan.
 
  • Plastic surgery utilizes surgical techniques such as microsurgery, flap transposition as well as various advanced methods and concepts to repair tissue defect, to improve function and aesthetics.
  • Reconstructive surgery is the key issue in plastic surgery; and using intra-abdominal organs for complex reconstruction under the collaboration of various subspecialties is even the top achievement of reconstructive surgery.
It accomplishes the reconstruction which were impossible with conventional surgery, and is the model of knowledge integration.
  • In order to be successful in treating an individual case, we must clarify the complex anatomic abnormalities through the combined approach by a variety of subspecialties, to design a detailed flow chart of procedures after discussion by all related subspecialties, over come the risk of patient's co-morbidities, good control of ischemia time of the harvested intra-abdominal organs, perform proper arrangement and inset for the transferred organs, provide specially designed physiotherapy programs for an individual patient.
