Request for Collaboration
Overview
  1. The team has joined more than 60 global phase 0-III  clinical trials for the past 20 years.
  2. The team is currently one of the member for Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration(APLC) focus on Lupus Low Disease Activity State (LLDAS) Study. The team had joined the SUGAR study which was ACR supported study for new classification criteria of gouty arthritis and validation of gout flare study that collaborated. with University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA.
Features
Given the current lack of established treatment algorithms and treatment targets in lupus, the APLC has determined to pool resources to create the largest cohort of lupus patients ever studied. It is anticipated that this will facilitate multiple epidemiological studies which will produce robust evidence based recommendations for the ongoing management of SLE.

Lupus Low Disease Activity State (LLDAS) study is an international, multi-centre prospective study, developed by the Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration (APLC) to investigate whether the attainment of LLDAS is associated with improved outcomes in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).

A validated and widely accepted measure of low disease activity in SLE would have the potential to be used as a novel clinical trial endpoint in studies of SLE therapies. It would also have the potential to result in treat-to-target clinical approaches that will drive optimal use of therapies in SLE, including novel targeted therapies.

Taichung Veterans General Hospital is ISO-9001-certified and has been accredited as first -rate medical center and teaching hospital in Taiwan by the Ministry of Health and Joint Commission of Taiwan since 1985 and continues to maintain the honor for the ensuing periodical hospital accreditations.

The Clinical Immunology Laboratory of the Center has been accredited as ISO-15189-certified Medical Lab by the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation since 2008. The lab participates multiple programs of proficiency tests, including CAPs, EQAS, NEQAS and ICS, to ensure the quality of our laboratory tests.
Collaboration Options
  1. Sixteen institutions from 11 countries involved in the APLC are contributing to the prospective validation study
  2. Data are being collected by Investigators at participating institutes by using Case Report Forms (CRF) or REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) database. All data are being de-identified.
  3. Results will be presented as odds and hazard ratios respectively, with precision estimates.
  4. It is anticipated that this work will demonstrate the validity of LLDAS as a new composite treatment target for measuring disease outcomes in SLE.
  5. Publication from this study will fill a major gap in the current literature of information on disease state and qualityof-life data from a huge population of mostly Asian patients.
