The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development (NIKOM), a public institution affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Welfare in South Korea, was established to promote public health and grow the national economy by fostering the Korean Medicine industry.

Our institute works to promote health and welfare through Korean Medicine, strengthen economic competitiveness through industry, innovation, and expand infrastructure for sustainable growth. Korean Medicine has taken the first big steps beyond Korea and into the world for the health of all people. The importance of preventative medicine is ever increasing now in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially with the emergence of new infectious diseases and chronic illnesses caused by the aging population.

As the global health market enters a new paradigm, interest in traditional medicine is increasing exponentially all over the world. Now, we are seeing international patients coming to Korea, and Korean Medicine technology is expanding out into the world.
