YD Biolabs Co., Ltd. (founded in 2019, headquartered in Hsinchu Biomedical Science Park) was established by Dr. Chen Cheng-Yao. The company focuses on the research and development of a Next-Generation DNA Synthesis (NGDS) platform, dedicated to advance the next-generation solutions for precision medicine and life science research through innovative DNA synthesis and labeling technologies. 

The company’s core technology utilizes an enzymatic approach to overcome the limitations of traditional chemical DNA synthesis, providing oligonucleotide synthesis and nucleic acid probe preparation with higher efficiency, lower cost, and improved environmental sustainability. Its proprietary DNA synthesizer operates in a “printing” mode to rapidly produce oligonucleotides of target sequences within hours, reducing process time from days to hours. The applications include molecular diagnostics, gene sequencing, synthetic biology, data storage, and drug/vaccine development.

Furthermore, the company has developed a high-efficiency 5' end DNA labeling kit, 3’ end DNA labeling kit and dual labeling kit. These kits can integrate fluorescent dyes, haptens, or "click chemistry" tags, offering the advantages of simplicity, high yield, and ready-to-use convenience. It's widely used in DNA probe hybridization, qPCR, sequencing, genotyping, as well as antibody conjugation, precision diagnostics, and biosensing.
