HippoScreen Neurotech Corp. (HNC), founded in 2019 through Compal Electronics’ investment in Professor Yi-Hung Liu’s research team, specializes in EEG signal processing and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to develop AI-assisted EEG solutions for mental and brain health. The company achieved significant milestones, including FDA 510(k) clearance for its self-developed EEG amplifier in 2020 and TFDA approval in 2021, making it Taiwan’s first medical-grade EEG amplifier manufacturer. In 2023, HippoScreen launched its Stress EEG Assessment System as a certified Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). Additionally, the company obtained ISO 13485 certification for medical device quality management in 2022, certified by BSI and listed on the BSI certification website.
